Margaret Mccarthy Seacord

Ithaca: Margaret Seacord, 92, passed away at Sterling House of Ithaca on January 14, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband, John Seacord; parents, Frank and Margaret McCarthy; brother, Francis McCarthy; and sister, Barbara Brock. She is survived by her brother, Roger McCarthy; sons, Donald (Virginia) Seacord, and Ronald (Ereign) Seacord, all of Ithaca; her grandchildren, Amy (Christopher) Jogis of Larchmont, NY, Brian (Sue) Seacord of San Diego, CA, Sheree (John) Walshe of Franklin, MA, and Correen (Reggie) Briggs of Ithaca. She will be greatly missed by her great grandchildren Kimberly and James Jogis, John and Ciaran Walshe, Brooker and Dashiell Briggs.

Margaret lived in Ithaca most of her life, graduation from Ithaca High School and marrying the love of her life and high school sweetheart, John Seacord. They were married for 63 years until his death in 2001 and she often mentioned that she missed him every day since. She retired from Cornell University and was active in the Cornell community serving as an elected employee representative to the Cornell Board of Trustees and was on the Board of Directors of the Cornell Credit Union.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be celebrated on January 20th at 11am at the Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
