Margaret Steel Mcfiggins

Margaret E. Steel McFiggins, 87, passed away Wednesday, July 04, 2012 after an extended illness. She was born November 20, 1924 in Tracy City, TN to the late James and Cecil (Smith) Merritt. Margaret is survived by her six children, Mary (Raymond) Wheaton of Newfield, Matthew (Donna) Steel of Enfield, John Steel of Syracuse, Margaret "Meg" (Howard) Matt of Phoenix, AZ, David Steel of Trumansburg and George (Marsha) Steel of Gastonia, NC; her grandchildren: Raymond B. Wheaton III, Debra S. Beyer, Yvonne Knickerbocker, James Wheaton, Paul Steel, Holley Clark, Kyria Steel, Autumn Steel, Matthew Steel, Dacia Steel, Cody Steel, Sarah Steel and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John Merritt of Chattanooga, TN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husbands, John Steel and Robert A. McFiggins; her brothers, James F Merritt and William Merritt; her sister, June Osborne and daughter-in-law, Jessica Steel. Funeral services will be celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be directed to the Immaculate Conception School, 320 W.
