Madelyn Newby, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 06, 2016 surrounded by her surviving children; Diane, Ernest, Minister Philip, Linda, Eleanor, Jo-Ann, Larry and Lori. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and her sister, Eleanor. Madelyn was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Dorothy Little; her sisters, Phyllis and Barbara; husband, Glover John Newby; her children, Carol, Bobby, Charles and Donald and her grandchildren, Johnny and Prentice.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Grove Bible Church 1763 Slaterville Rd., Ithaca. There are no calling hours. Interment in South Hill Cemetery will be delayed until spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
