  1. Bradford Noble

Brad died peacefully on June 10th at Hospicare in Ithaca, NY after a courageous two year battle with ALS. He was born on Feb 2nd, 1961 to Milton and Patricia Noble of Baldwinsville, NY. He grew up in Bayberry (Liverpool), NY and graduated from LHS. He then went on to SUNY Cortland to study geology, where he met his wife Margaret. Together they moved to Moscow, ID where Brad attended graduate school at the University of Idaho. After the birth of their two children, Brad and Margaret moved back to Homer, NY to be closer to family.

Brad worked as a landscaper and ski instructor for many years before becoming a bench jeweler. He enjoyed working with his hands and had a talent for designing and making unique pieces of jewelry. Brad loved the outdoors, hiking, camping, and going to concerts. He was also an accomplished athlete and enjoyed skiing and cycling. Even after being diagnosed with ALS, he continued to be as active as his body would let him. He spent his last two years doing the things he loved and spending time with family. He was a beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, and “crazy Uncle Brad” who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 33 years, Margaret Heaslip of Homer, NY; daughter Erin Schaefer (Victor) of San Diego, CA; son Cory (Katherine) of Port Richey, FL; and two-year-old granddaughter Lucy, the light of his life. Also surviving are sister Debra Connell (Jim, deceased) of Hershey, PA, niece Alyssa and nephew Ryan, both of Philadelphia, PA; sister Jennifer Franz (Craig) of NC, niece Hillary of Raleigh, and nephew Nathan of Asheville; sister Michelle Shepard (Jason), niece Jessica, and nephew Owen of Guilderland, NY; as well as his many in-laws, nieces, and nephews in the Heaslip family. A celebration of life will be held later this summer – date to be announced.

In memory of Brad, donations may be made to: ALS Association (www.als.org) or Hospicare (www.hospicare.org/donate).
