M. James Morgan

James Morgan, 98, passed away gently September 3, 2015 at his home in Brooktondale, NY with his son at his bedside. He was born February 14, 1917 in Sauquot, NY to the late Irvin and Marie Morgan.

He graduated from Syracuse University, married his great love, Janice Hall and joined the US Army Air Corps in 1941. After discharge, he managed the Albany, NY MGM movie theaters and then in 1950 Janice and Jim began to open Western Auto stores in Hudson Falls, Glens Falls and Granville NY. While living in Hudson Falls and Kingsbury for almost sixty years, they travelled extensively and maintained a winter home on Anna Maria Island, Florida. They moved to their final home on his son's horse farm near Ithaca, NY about twelve years ago. Jim and Janice had a wonderful life and a 74 year marriage. Janice predeceased him in 2013. Jim golfed with a zero handicap.

In addition to his parents and wife Jim was also predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Morgan. He is survived by his son, Robert Morgan and wife, Anne of Ithaca; granddaughter, Janice Morgan and husband, Nick of Edmonton Canada and their child, Kyle; step-grandson, Andrew Shedlock and wife, Denise of Tallahassee, FL and their children, Madeline and Ryan.
