Lynn Henry Watros

Lynn Henry Watros (81) of Newfield, son of William Gurdon and Lena Belle (Dorn) Watros,  passed away quietly at home, a satisfied man, on June 13, 2023, with his loving wife, Jane, and eldest grandchild, Matthew, at his side.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Canzler Watros, brother, Charles (Jean) Watros, children, Denise (Raymond) O’Dell, Matthew (Pamela) Watros, Tamara Lynne (Todd) VanOrman, Annette (Eric) Ronnbeck, and James Heffner.  Grandpa, Poppy and Papa to his grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany), Dylan (Erin), Sarah Lyn (Zach), Xavier Samuel, Hannah Leigh (Connor), Jaimi (Mike), Jessie Lynn (Chris), Ava Grace, Jimmy, and Jonathan, great-grandchildren, Bracen, Colton, Zara Lynn, Brooke, Willow, Adalynn and Miles.

In addition, Karen Harrell, mother of Matthew and Dylan, many nieces and nephews, including Mary (Laura) Watros, with whom he shared a special bond.

Pre-deceased by siblings Jane (Donald) Williams, Vivian (George) Basl and Roger Watros.  First wife, Nancy Lee Wood.  Nephew Joseph Basl.  In-laws Raymond and Hilde Canzler and precious grandbaby Alexia Jane Monroe Ronnbeck.

Lynn was a life long member of the Newfield Fire Company.  He was also a member of many town organizations.  He loved to garden and it showed as each year more lawn would disappear as his gardens grew.  His plants live on in the community as he shared them with so many.

Lynn cherished his family more than anything and was a child at heart.  He was the best playmate to his all his grandkids.  They will remember him as an inspiring naturist, slow driver, and proficient napper.  Never one to call ahead, he would pop in on any of us at anytime, usually, meal time.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 18th at 1:00 pm at the Newfield Fire Hall.
