Brooktondale: Lydia M. Olsefski passed away on Monday May 27, 2013 at her home at the age of 94 surrounded by her loving family. Lydia was employed by NCR where she met her future husband Leo. Lydia was born Nov.24, 1918 to Steven Supek Sr. and his wife Anna of Akron, OH. Lydia was raised by her stepmother Mary after her mother Anna's death. Lydia grew up during the depression years and the lack of work in Ohio brought the family to the Ithaca Area in 1928 where she first resided on Bostwick Hill Road and later on Sheffield Road. Lydia moved to Coddington Road after her marriage to Leo to the Olsefski Farm right next door to Leo's father and mother. In the mid 1980's their long winding driveway connecting to Deputron Hollow Road was named Olsefski Road in honor of the Olsefski Families 80 year residency. Lydia enjoyed the good farm life where she attended the farm animals and her massive garden which she was very proud of and always willing to share with friends, neighbors and family. Lydia is
survived by two sons James (Carol) Olsefski, Michael (Kathy) Olsefski, a daughter Marguerite (Bert) Dean, a sister Helen (Donald) Drake and brother John Supek and two sister-in-laws Alice (Stanley) Olsefski and Anna (Sam) Supek. Lydia is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lydia was predeceased in death in 1966 by her husband Leo of 23 years, her parents Steve and Mary Supek, brothers Steve Jr. and Sam Supek, her sisters Mary (Adolf) Busse and Pauline (Robert) Longcoy. Lydia is further survived by her grandson Matthew (Jenn) Olsefski of Bellingham, WA, Tammie Olsefski and Tish Williams of Ithaca and great-grandchildren, Shai Benjamin and Abigail Virginia Fuller. Lydia also leaves behind a dear friend Maxine Nichols and her faithful caregiver Susan Bourne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church 113 North Geneva Street, Ithaca, New York on Thursday May 30, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Friends may call from 11 to 1 PM at Bangs Funeral Home prior to the Mass. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery on Route 13A (Floral Avenue) immediately following Mass.
In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Foodnet, Hospicare or Office of the Aging in Lydia's memory.
