June 10, 1947 — March 6, 2022

Ballwin, Missouri

L. William Argetsinger (“Argie”) from Ballwin Missouri passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his four children on March 6, 2022. Born in Syracuse, New York on June 10, 1947 to Ann Powers Argetsinger. Argie was raised by his mother along with his beloved sister Ann whom both have predeceased him.

Argie grew up in Ithaca, New York and graduated from Ithaca High School in 1965. He attended and graduated from S.U.N.Y at Brockport in 1969. Upon graduation, Argie went to work at Cornell University in the athletic department where he was a certified athletic trainer for both the football and hockey teams from 1970-1983. During his time at Cornell, he was very active in local sports playing and coaching softball teams during the summers.

In August 1983, Argie was hired as the head athletic trainer at Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri where he worked until January 1989. He was hired at Anheuser-Busch Companies in January 1989 to oversee, manage and run the fitness and wellness centers for the Anheuser-Busch employees, which he did phenomenally until December 2008.

He is survived by his four children Brad (Megan) Argetsinger, Nicole (Rajan) Knox, Amy (Marshall) Newman, and Beth (Matt) Buck. He will be forever loved and known to his twelve grandchildren (Cole, Nicholas, Quinn, Jack, Caden, Hailey, Layla, Cooper, Tanner, Hudson, Olivia, and William) as “Popi”.

There are simply not enough words in the English language to explain and show what our dad has meant to us. He was an amazing friend to many and enemy to none. His love, laughter and personality were larger than life. All who knew him and crossed paths with him loved him. There is a tremendous void without him here however we know that his memory will continue to live on in the lives of all who were lucky enough to know him.

Calling hours will be 12-1 pm on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St. Ithaca with a service to follow at 1 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Ithaca.
