Luke E. Sjolund

Luke E. Sjolund, 48 of Ithaca, NY passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at home.

He was born on January 19, 1976 in Brooklyn, NY and in August of that year the family moved to Coram, NY on Long Island. Luke attended Longwood Schools, graduating in 1993. He went on to attend Suffolk County Community College then John Jay College for one year in New York City and then to SUNY Plattsburgh for his final year and a half. Upon graduation, he was working in Social Services when he left for San Francisco for an extended period, where he earned his Master’s degree from San Francisco State University. Returning to NY he again worked in Social Services, with young adults, on Staten Island. He moved to Ithaca and began his employment with TST BOCES in the adult education department.

Luke is survived by his father, Eric and brother, Damon both of Hawaii.

A Celebration of Luke’s Life is being planned for the spring of 2025 and will be announced.
