ITHACA – Louise Agnes Maynard, 78, of McGraw House, Ithaca, died peacefully on November 11, 2018 at Cayuga Medical Center. Born on June 12, 1940, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles Edward and Alice (Tebeau) Maynard.
Louise was a lifelong resident of Ithaca, employed by the Dept. of Gift Records at Cornell University until retirement. She was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish. She loved our Lord and her faith community, where she once served as a religious education teacher.
In her younger years, Louise enjoyed traditional clog dancing and was an avid cat lover. She was especially affectionate and generous to her nieces and nephews and holds a special place in their hearts. Louise loved her entire family and was a devoted sister, daughter and friend. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Edward Maynard, Jr.(Beverly) of Dryden; two nieces, Cynthia Waterman (David) of Dryden, Cheryl Ginn (David) of Charlotte, NC; nephew, Brent Maynard (Maria) of Seneca Falls; as well as many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Alice C. Maynard and her niece, Pamela Maynard Barnes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 113 North Geneva St., Ithaca, NY 14850. The Rite of Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Ithaca, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Louise’s memory may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 113 North Geneva St., Ithaca, NY 14850 or Catholic Charities Tompkins/Tioga, 324 W. Buffalo Street, Ithaca NY 14850.
