LORRAINE C. QUINLAN
Domenica "Lorraine" Casciani Quinlan died unexpectedly at Cayuga Medical Center on Saturday, August 25, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She will be well remembered for her wonderful smile, warm personality, and her incredible sense of style.
Born in Weymouth, MA on September 14, 1926, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Cortilda (Rubolino) and Domenic Casciani, and the cherished wife of the late William "Bill" Quinlan. Lorraine was a graduate of Weymouth High School and Colby-Sawyer College. While the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Bill, was stationed in the Pacific during World War II, she worked for a legal firm in Boston. They were married when Bill returned from the war. She and Bill moved to Ithaca with their family after living in Massachusetts, Toronto, and Wyckoff, New Jersey.
Lorraine's long career in local real estate began in 1969 with Stage Realty, and later with Warren Real Estate. She loved her career and was a great businesswoman, with a priority for her clients' satisfaction. She retired in 2008 at the age of 81.
Lorraine is survived by daughters Pamela (Alan Cohen) Quinlan of Ithaca, New York, who lovingly cared for her for the last three years, and Darby (Bill) Boggess of East Orleans, MA; grandchildren William and Michael Quinlan-Cohen, Beth McFarland, and Ann Bridgman; her sister Helen Casciani of Manhattan; and many cousins in Massachusetts, California and Florida.
The family wishes to thank Doctors Cardina, Swisher, and Bael for their professional care of Lorraine, and the administration and staff at Bridges-Cornell Heights for their loving care and support.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 29, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church. Those wishing to remember Lorraine are asked to consider a memorial to Hospicare, 172 E. King Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
