Linda D. Watt

March 21, 1949 — November 2, 2016

Linda D. Watt, 67, of Port Charlotte, FL and formerly of Ithaca, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte.

She was the daughter of the late Burton and Jean Ridley Sherman and was retired from the Cayuga Medical Center after 33 years of service as a Physical Therapist.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Norman Watt; daughter, Carrie (Joseph) Landon of Odessa, NY and her grandchildren, Tristan and McKenzie.

"You are one courageous woman. You have taken on this journey with determination and courage. Throughout you have maintained a sense of hope and joy for life when a great deal of the time you were most likely uncomfortable at best and miserable at worst. You have set an example of real courage and a wonderful legacy for Carrie. She couldn't have asked for a stronger more determined mom. I watched you attack disease, when you had no control, with the aggressive accumulation of knowledge about treatment, which allowed for some control. Over the years you educated yourself, and sometimes your doctors about treatment options and choices. I have to think those doctors are better professionals and people because of you.
I also watched your courage under stress and often pain. You are an amazing woman who has taught all of those around her how to live life with joy and how to fight until the end.
In these last months, I hope you find some peace, knowing you did all that you could. You have been an inspiration to us all I hope I will have half of your strength. Go in peace my friend, I will see you on the other side. Love Georgia"
