On August 22nd, 2021, Linda Lampila of Newfield, NY, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 after losing a hard-fought battle with Cancer.
Linda was born in Ithaca, NY on January 23rd, 1949, to Harlond Holley and Esther Allen.
Linda was a humble person who always found the good in everyone. It was the simplest pleasures in life that brought joy to Linda. She truly enjoyed the simple acts of spending time with family, telling stories, sharing old memories, and making new ones. She had a great appreciation for music and loved to sing and dance whenever she heard a song that caught her attention. Linda also loved sports of all kinds. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and was an Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Suns fan.
Linda was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She was a long-time volunteer firefighter with the Newfield Fire Company. Linda also worked for many years as a caregiver at Unity House in Ithaca, before moving to Arizona and continuing her work in the same field for several more years preceding her retirement.
Linda is survived by her husband Lloyd, children Steven and Erin, stepchildren Tracie, Dennis, and Lloyd Jr. her grandchildren, Gavin, Payton, Dominic, Jenna, and Anthony and her six siblings, Steve, Jim, Ken, John, Carole, and Janette.
The funeral service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Ithaca on Friday August 27th, 2021, at 1:30pm. Calling hours will be held at Bangs Funeral Home on Friday August 27th, 2021, from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. There will also be a celebration of life held at the Enfield Community Center on Saturday August 28th, 2021, from 12:30pm – 2:00pm. All are welcome to come and share a meal, and memories of Linda as we celebrate the beautiful person that she was.
