Lewis S. Pluck passed away at home on September 3, 2018.
Lewis was born June 18,1922 in Berlin, NJ. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Hawaii and Guam. He met his late wife, Mildred, in 1945 and they were married in 1946. They lived in Ithaca, on the Northside. He worked many years in the Laborers Local Union 589 and a brief time for the City of Ithaca.
He is survived by his three children, Ronald Pluck, Dawn and her husband Jerry Wolff, and Tami Tabone; his six grandchildren, Carrie Gleason, Jason Pluck, Travis Wolff, Jerry Wolff Jr., Kem Tabone, and Alexis Tabone; one Great-grandchild, Brayden Whittaker; a brother, Dave Pluck; a sister, Dorothy Martinez; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Veit, and several nieces and nephews.
He inspired many members of the community with his spark for life and strong sense of independence and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service is planned at Bang’s Funeral Home in Ithaca, on September 20th at 11am.
