LeeBlond Farley of Ithaca, quietly entered eternal rest on June 20, 2014 surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late Robert and Selina Bell Woolfolk, she was born on November 4, 1928 in Fort Mitchell, AL. She lived her life fully and passionately as a devout Christian woman, trusting in God.
She was a member of the St. James African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church for 42 years. She sang in the senior choir (all of her children sang in the children's choir) and she called St. James her second home. Mrs. Farley was a member of the Deaconess Board and the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, LeeBlond was predeceased by her husband, Robert Farley, Sr. in 2009 and daughter, Linda in 2010.
She is survived by her children, Herman (Phillis) Farley, Leon Farley, Deborah (Lawrence, Sr.) White, Ronnie (Mayra) Farley, Michael (Katherine) Farley, Robert Farley and Kim Farley and her nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Kemmitt Woolfolk and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the St. James AME Zion Church, 116 Cleveland Ave., Ithaca. Interment will follow at the South Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, June 27th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home. Donations in LeeBlond's memory may be made to the St. James AME Zion Church.
