Lawrence Marks

Lawrence Marks passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on December 5th, 2023 due to a short illness.

He was born in Bronx, New York where he attended school and then joined the U.S. Army. While serving his country he attended RCA school to learn electronics. After an honorable discharge in 1962 he pursued a career with Honeywell in Massachusetts, then moved on to the National Cash Register in Ithaca, New York. He retired in 1998 while working for United Technologies in Indiana. His friends and the beauty of the Ithaca area drew him back, where he and his wife Cornelia settled in the neighboring Mecklenburg.

He enjoyed bowling, surf fishing, golf and bridge. More recently he enjoyed meals out, but Friday night was for  supper at his house with son Seth and his companion Jacie. Sunday mornings were spent having breakfast at The Falls restaurant in Trumansburg.

Lawrence was predeceased by his parents Irving and Augusta, his father in law Roland Hawkins, and wife of 50 years, Cornelia.

He is survived by his sons Kendall and Seth. Per his wishes, there will be no services; please make any donation to your charity of choice.
