Lamont Leonard (Monte) Hine Sr.

LaMont Leonard Hine, 86, of Newfield, New York passed away on January 19, 2023 in St. Cloud, FL. LaMont is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Virginia I Hine; Son Lamont Hine Jr. and Geri McCabe & her daughter Megan McCabe; Daughter Lisa Hine-Hartman; granddaughter Kayla LaRaye Miller, grandson Michael Hartman II & Jessica Thomas, and 5 great grandchildren. LaMont was born in Newfield, New York on March 23, 1936 to the late Fayette & Smith Hine. LaMont attended Newfield High School, and later started working as a sheet metal worker with a long-standing career. Having always had a passion for old Model A Fords, he would go on to restore two of them. Recently driving the famed ‘Bumble Bee’ in the Old Home Days celebration with his great-grandsons in tow. LaMont married his wife Virginia in 1953. Their once in a lifetime bond was apparent until the day he transcended. LaMont was and always will be remembered for his willingness to lend a helping hand to his fellow friends and family. His warm laughter and great sense of humor are just some of his most memorable traits.

Funeral services to be held Wednesday, February 1st, calling hours at 11am, funeral at 12 noon at Bangs Funeral Home located at 209 W Green St, Ithaca, NY 14850. Burial to follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY. A Celebration of Life immediately following ceremonies at the VFW located at 423 W State St, Ithaca, NY 14850.
