Katherine Woodward

Our dear mother Katherine (Keiffer Barron) Woodward passed away on July 16, 2022 at the age of 91 ½, in Morgan, Utah. The last six and a half years she lived in an assisted living facility. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, and friend to many. Katherine was born to Henry and Mildred Keiffer on December 31, 1930 in Ithaca, New York. While in nurses training school she met James Gregory Barron, who at the time drove an ambulance for the same hospital she was training in. They married in 1950 and were together 38 years before he passed away. They had four children; James, Daniel, Kelly, and Michael, who they raised in California. Katherine remarried in 1991 to Elbern Woodward and moved back to Ithaca. They were married 22 years before his passing. Katherine is survived by three children: Dan Barron, Michael Barron (Kari), and Kelly Gipson (Kevin). She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Katherine was predeceased by her loving husband James (Jim) in 1988 and Elbern in 2014, and her son James (Jim) in 2001. In addition, she is survived by two stepchildren Wayne and Cindy Woodward, and one step-granddaughter Jessie. Katherine was well-loved every where she lived and will be missed by all. We will always carry her in our hearts. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:00am at South Hill Cemetery, Ithaca, NY.
