Katherine Katsikis

Katherine Katsikis, 91, of South Hill Terrace, passed away Friday, September 04, 2015 at the Cayuga Medical Center. She was born in Greece, daughter of the late Christos and Aphrodite Siotas. She was the widow of George Katsikis and was also predeceased by her infant son, Christos Katsikis.

Katherine was retired from Cornell University and was a longtime member of St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church where she was active in the Philoptochos Society. She had been a volunteer at the Tompkins County Hospital gift shop for many years and had also been a volunteer at GIAC and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader.

Katherine is survived by her children, Zane George Katsikis and Afrodity Katsikis both of California and Moskoula Katsikis of New Jersey and her brother, James Siotas of Greece.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church. Friends may call at the church prior to the service beginning at 10:15 a.m. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY will follow on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Katherine's memory may be made to St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 120 W. Seneca St., Ithaca, NY 14850. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
