Kate L Chrzan

May 6, 1993 — November 30, 2013

On November 30, 2013 Alan Jackson lost his most devoted fan. Kate Lynn Chrzan, 20, left this world at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cortland, NY on May 6, 1993 to Sandra and Anthony Chrzan, Kate was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at the age of 2 ½. While Kate had Rett Syndrome, Rett Syndrome did not have her, for she had a love of life that was unstoppable. Kate attended the Racker Center in Cortland, TST BOCES and Groton Central schools, where she made many many friends. Kate enjoyed attending country music concerts and meeting her favorite stars, listening to music, fishing, camping, boating, swimming, shopping and hanging out in the garage with her boys. Kate had a wicked sense of humor, a heart-warming smile and an infectious giggle that seemed to come right from her toes. For a little girl who never spoke a word, she touched many lives in a most positive way, for all who knew her learned what love really is. Kate is survived by her mother, Sandra Chrzan and Albert Foote Jr., of Trumansburg, her father, Anthony Chrzan and Robin Reilly, of Marathon, sisters Misha Foote and Alex Kreutzer, maternal grandparents Carol and Donald Porter of Ellenton, FL , paternal grandmother Patricia Chrzan of Forestport, NY and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Additionally, Kate was a part of the family of Hope Saville and Kate had a special place in the heart of Randy Jackson. Many people have helped care for Kate over the years and she will be missed by all of them. Kate was predeceased by her grandfather, Ernest Freeman. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Bangs Funeral Home in Ithaca, NY from 4 pm to 7 pm, with a celebration of Kate's life on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Mecklenburg Volunteer Fire Company on County Rte 6 in Mecklenburg, NY from noon to 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mecklenburg Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 108, Mecklenburg, NY 14863 where Kate enjoyed many pancake breakfasts or to Cayuga Centers for Children, 101 Hamilton Ave, Auburn NY 13021 which helped Kate have a fulfilling life at home. The words Kate heard before bed every night from her mother are the words her mother will use to say her final goodbye: "I love you with all of my heart, all of my soul, all that I am and my whole world, it begins and ends with you! I love you, Bug."
