Karen S Paetow

"Karen Sue Paetow of Groton, NY, passed away unexpectedly in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester NY on January 19, 2017 due to complications from a brain aneurysm suffered on January 1st. Daughter of the late Henrietta and Herman Paetow, Karen was born in York, PA on November 27, 1964. She grew up in Newfield NY and graduated from Ithaca High School in 1983.


Karen was very politically active, always fighting for the underdog. She was an activist who loved to blog and developed quite a few friendships through those with mutual interests. She had a great love for animals and was an advocate for many animal rescue groups. As an organ donor, she was able to continue giving after her death.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Alicia Morse, Franklin Paetow, Matthew Seaman - Paetow, Quentin Adams as well as the many foster children she housed and helped over the years. She is also survived by two sisters, Kimberly and Cynthia and several nieces and nephews.
