June M. (Ford) Slater

June M. Slater, age 87, of Marathon, NY passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Beechtree Care Center, Ithaca, NY.

Born May 18, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion Davis Ford and wife of the late Robert Slater. June was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. She loved crafts and was an avid reader. She had a large family and enjoyed spending time with all of them.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by children, Preston DeGraw, Ann Zelsnack, Daniel DeGraw, William DeGraw and sister, Patricia Darrow. June is survived by children, Richard (Deborah) DeGraw of Starke, FL, James (Yulanda) DeGraw of Marathon, NY, Wendy (Keith) Vonderhuevel of Sidney, OH, Dawn Zupancic of Cortland, NY, Adam (Carmen) DeGraw of Charlotte, NC and Nathan DeGraw of Marathon, NY; son in law, Anthony (Lyn) Zelsnack of Marathon, NY; siblings, Charles Ford of Homer, NY and Fran (Grant) Gleason of Harford, NY; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice. Bangs Funeral Home, Ithaca, NY is assisting the family.
