Wicker, Julian Archer
Julian Archer Wicker, beloved son of Stephen Bryant and Sarah Susan Wicker, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 28, 2013. He passed away peacefully, never waking from his afternoon nap. He had just celebrated his first birthday.
In his brief life he gave great joy to many people and shared his love for adventure and beauty with all those he encountered. He was already a world traveler and intrepid explorer. He greatly enjoyed his books and was an avid singer at all times of the day. We will miss him beyond words.
Julian is survived by both parents and his two siblings, SPC. Alexander Bryant Wicker, 10th Mountain Division, US Infantry, and Elena Carol Wicker, a sophomore at Cornell University. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Dr. Charles and Dorothy Hale (Seattle, WA) and the Rev. Kathrin and Lester Radach (Holdenville, OK), as well as his uncles and aunts, Richard and Kiki Wicker (Fredericksburg, VA), David Wicker (Virginia Beach, VA), Prof. Donald and Catherine Sutherland (College Park, MD), and numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to an endowment at Cornell University, in Julian's name, to support graduate student research travel. Please contact the Graduate School at Cornell University for further information.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ithaca, Tuesday morning at 11. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
