Julee Starr Dean

Julee Starr Dean, 43, passed away peacefully at her home in Brooktondale, NY on Tuesday, February 9th 2021 following a courageous eight year battle with cancer. The daughter of Harvey and Virginia Besemer Starr, she was born, raised and still lived in the Slaterville Springs area. Julee had worked for many years at Economy Paving in Cortland prior to her illness.

In addition to her parents Julee is survived by her husband, Andrew Dean; her daughter, Lily M. Dean; her sisters, Laurie Starr and Terri (Mark Cleveland) Starr and her beloved niece, Jillian. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Faye Dean and numerous aunts and uncles. She also had cousins whom she loved like brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her grandparents, W. Harvey and Florence Starr, and Cary and Barbara Besemer as well as her father-in-law, William Dean, Jr.

Julee's family will have a private ceremony to mark her passing. A public celebration of her life will be held in the spring or summer when she can be honored appropriately without limitations on the number of attendees.
