Judith S Williams McPherson : February 11th 1940 - February 11th 2018
On her Birthday... surrounded by love, and held by her family, Judy went to join the love of her life, her husband John McPherson for a homecoming celebration in Heaven. She missed him terribly since his passing in 2010 and we can find some comfort in knowing that their love affair can continue and that they are together once again.
She was a beautiful soul that could brighten any room with her presence. She was always there with open arms, open heart, and a smile to welcome everyone. She brought light to a dark day, and a sense of calm on a turbulent sea. She was outgoing, funny, open to new things, and her smile was that of an angel.
She spent most of her working years at Cornell veterinary school, and had made many friends there. She retired at age 55, and her and John then spent a great deal of time on their boat and the St. Lawrence River that they loved so much. They would dance together on the bridge of the boat while listening to Patsy Cline as the world passed by in their paradise.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Ronald and Elma Williams and her beloved husband John McPherson. She is survived by her Daughters, Sharon (Joette) McPherson, JoAnn (Andrew) Jaeger, Stepdaughter Debbie (Mark) Bendett, Grandchildren, Jonathon (Krista) Metz, Nicholas Metz, Sean Jaeger, Elizabeth Jaeger, Jennifer (Joe) McConnell, Craig Ross. Sister Roberta Burling. Brother in law Andrew (Dawness) McPherson, Sister in law Mary Jean (David) Nicktakis, several Nieces and nephews. Long time friends Tom and Martha Bell, Connie and Dick Evans, Brenda Robinson, Debbie and Lisa Moracco, and all those who have been touched by this amazing woman.
Judy especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and would do her best to make everyone know how very much she loved them. There was a lot of love to give as she had a heart as big as the night sky. She was deeply loved, and will be forever missed....
Services will be held Thursday at 12:00 at Bangs Funeral home in Ithaca ny. Followed by burial at Calvary cemetery. There will be a celebration of Judy's life held afterward at Joe's restaurant at 2pm. If you have stories to share, feel free to bring them there.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tompkins county SPCA or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
