Judith M Caraccilo

Judith M. Caraccilo, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Cayuga Medical Center. She was born in Geneva, daughter of the late Dominick and Angela Marciano Maio. Judy was a Nurse Practitioner in the oncology field. She had worked at the office of Drs. Garbo and Ginsburg and also at the Cayuga Medical Center. She was a graduate of the TC3 Nursing Program and SUNY Upstate. She was very proud of her work in the medical field. An outstanding cook, her sauce and meatballs were legendary. Judy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Eugene "Geno" Caraccilo; her daughter, Andrea Caraccilo (Jason Krohn) and her granddaughter, her shining star, Angelica; her brother, Philip Maio; sisters, Elizabeth Nepa and Sharon Maio (William Shaben) and several nieces and nephews, including Woody, Nannette and Mena Nepa. She is also survived by her in-laws, Domenica (Geno) Giovannini, Vincent (Jan) Caraccilo, Dominic (Katherine) Caraccilo Jr., Robert (Marie) Caraccilo, Ernest Peck and Mary Caraccilo. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her in-laws, Dominic and Teresa Caraccilo, Anna Peck and Francesco Caraccilo. Judy's love for her husband Geno, will last forever. She was a dedicated grandmother and was the guiding light in her daughter's life. Judy had a warm, compassionate heart for all who knew her. A private family service was celebrated at the Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy's memory may be made to the S.P.C.A., 1640 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
