Juddson G. Leonard, 73, of Ithaca passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 4, 2016.
"Juddy" was born July 15, 1943, the son of Nelly Warman. Following high school, Juddy served with the United States Army in Germany. Upon returning to the States, He was an active and loyal member of the Ithaca Fire Department until his retirement in 1990. He continued to work with the Ithaca Professional Firefighters Union post-retirement.
Juddy is survived by his beloved wife Christine (Konetchny) Leonard, his son Michael (Patty) Leonard, step-children Julie (Shane) Spencer, Doug (Ann) Smith, Michael Scott Smith, five grandchildren; Amber and Brett Spencer, Kaitlyn, Emma and Aleah Smith, sister Margaret Longo and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Gerlinde, sisters Betty Benedict and Gwen Walters, and brother Bob Warman.
Friends and family are invited to call from 11:30-1:30 Monday, August 8, 2016 at Bangs Funeral Home- 209 West Green Street, Ithaca. A brief service will follow at 1:30 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ed Sharp Scholarship Fund c/o the Ithaca Professional Firefighters Association or the Tompkins County SPCA.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
