Josh Wood, 39, of Hanshaw Rd., Freeville, found his peace on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the Cayuga Medical Center following a brief illness. Josh is predeceased by his father, Michael Wood and his maternal grandfather, Howard Myers.
Josh is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Myers Wood. In addition to his mother, Josh is survived by his children, Extacy, Faith, Kaydence, Zaine and Payson; his brother and sister-in-law, Zachery and Kristen Wood; niece and nephew, Ryan and Halie Wood; maternal grandmother, Donna Myers and his step father, Jake Kriner. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Stacy Smith and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Josh attended Dryden High School and had been employed as a cook at Manos Diner for several years, where he made many friends. Josh was a hard worker and would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The most important thing in Josh's life were his children. He was a loving father, son, and brother and leaves a lasting impression on our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 4 to 6 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Josh's memory may be made to the Joshua Wood Children's Trust, c/o Greg Acquavella, Tompkins Trust Co., The Commons, Ithaca, NY 14850.
