Josephine M. Mikula, 79, of Asbury Rd., Lansing, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Cayuga Medical Center following a brief but courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side.. She was born in Eldred, PA, daughter of the late Glenn and Ruth Curtis.

Josephine was the Valedictorian of her graduating class from Eldred High School and attended Mansfield University. She was retired from Ridley's Book Bindery where she had worked for many years. She loved baking, cooking, gardening and reading but was happiest just being with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul Mikula; Josephine and Paul were married on August 28, 1954 at All Saints Church in Lansing. She is also survived by her children, Debra Mulks, Paul (Margaret) Mikula and Gregory (Brenda) Mikula; her grandchildren, Terri (Jay) Lyons, Kristi (Matt) Wead, Kimberly (Christian) Russell, Michael Mikula, Maegan Mikula, Brandon Mikula and Danielle Mikula; her great grandson, Tyler Wead and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved son-in-law, Richard Mulks; her sisters, Edyth Uhrovick, Sandra Curtis and Betty Danver and her brother, Robert Curtis

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church in Lansing. Burial will be held at the Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 1 to 3 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donation in Josephine's memory may be made to Hospicare of Tompkins County, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850 or to All Saints Church, 347 Ridge Rd., Lansing, NY 14882.
