John T. Nolan passed away peacefully on March 27, 2017 at the Cayuga Medical Center at the age of 62. He was born in Buffalo, NY on April 18, 1954, son of the late Thomas and Ann (Colbert) Nolan.
John was a lifelong area resident, known to many. He played guitar in many local bands including many years playing with the Bernie Milton Band and had taught guitar at McNeil Music for 25 years. He had also worked as an aide at Hospicare for 15 years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. John loved his family very much and loved his roots from which he came.
John is survived by his daughter, Kylie Dickson of Brooktondale; his sister, Annie (Roger) Wiiki of Freeville and his best friend, Laurie Nicoson. He is also survived by aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephew who will miss him very much.

Friends may call on Monday, April 03, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 04, 2017 at 11 am at the Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of John's life will be held immediately following the graveside service at the Space at Greenstar, on the corner of Fulton and Buffalo St. All are welcome. Bring your memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Nolan Memorial Scholarship for Music Education, make checks payable to: CSMA 215 E. State St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
