John M. Case, age 47, passed way unexpectedly at his home in Spencer, NY on Thursday, November 2, 2017. Preceded in death by his father John Case Senior, John is survived by his son, Christian Case of Trumansburg, NY; mother and stepfather, Rita and Rick Bentley of Newfield, NY; and stepsisters Amanda and Vanessa Bentley, both of Ithaca, NY; as well as his faithful feline, Mouser. A special thank you to Andy Kuvent for his deep and abiding friendship with John over the years. John was a graduate of Dryden High School and dedicated 10 years of service to the United States Navy as a Nuclear Welder. He was a diehard Philadelphia eagles fan, an avid reader, a heavy metal aficionado and had a wicked sense of humor, but above all else John was a proud dad who loved to share his son Christian's latest accomplishment.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Ithaca Elk's Lodge located at 124 Coddington Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850 for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions for Christians continuing higher education. Should friends and family desire, a giving box will be available during the memorial or contributions may be sent C/O Rita Bentley, address provided upon request.
