Jodie Suzanne Meyers

Jodie Suzanne Meyers, 62, of Ithaca, NY, departed for her heavenly home on July 10, 2023. Her passing was both sudden and unexpected. Jodie was born August 17, 1960, in Niagara Falls, NY. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Ithaca where she lived the remainder of her life. A graduate of Ithaca High School, Jodie worked 43 years at Cornell University. Jodie is survived by her loving husband, Matthew Whittemore; her son, Trevar Whittemore both of Ithaca; her sister Christina of Tequesta, Florida, and brother Kenneth of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her father Roland Meyers, her mother Shirley (Voss) Meyers, and her firstborn son Troy Whittemore.

Jodie was a loving wife to Matt and a devoted mother to Troy and Trevar. Jodie loved flowers, children, and above all, her family. She was also an avid lover of animals and always took time to help an animal in need. After the passing of Troy, much of her time was spent establishing and managing the scholarship fund in his honor. Jodie loved home projects and always worked to make her home a loving and warm place for her family. She actively supported the Ithaca High School golf program and was a mother to all of the boys on the team.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 4 PM on August 18th at the 1st Assembly of God Ithaca, 197 Bostwick Road, Ithaca, NY, 14850. The family will receive guests at the church from 2-4 PM prior to the service. A reception will follow the service.
