Joan S. Rudd

Joan S. Rudd, 84, passed away peacefully at Longview, Ithaca, NY surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 05, 2015. She was born in Bethlehem, PA, daughter of the late John and Marion Maurer Savon and was the widow of David Dalton Rudd, Sr. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Teresa Ann Rudd-Bell.

Joan was a graduate of Moravian College. She and her late husband had previously lived in Manlius, NY, Utica, NY, Bridgeport, CT, Smithfield, VA and Indianapolis, IN. She enjoyed painting throughout her life. Joan had been a member of garden clubs in many of the locations she lived in and was a devout Catholic.

A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Joan leaves behind her loving sons, David D. Rudd, Jr., and his wife, Debra Goldwein of Fayetteville, NY and John B. Rudd and his wife, Beverly Chin of Ithaca, NY; three grandchildren, Alec B. Rudd, Kirstin T. Rudd and Kylee T. Rudd and her husband, Benjamin Singer-Scott. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Savon and his wife, Phyllis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Carsten Martensen on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 12 noon at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 302 St. Catherine Circle, Ithaca, NY. The family will receive friends in the church prior to the mass beginning at 10 a.m. Interment in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Pompey, NY will be delayed until spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name may be made to the Cayuga Medical Center Foundation, 101 Dates Dr., Ithaca, NY 14850 or to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850 or Longview, 1 Bella Vista Dr., Ithaca, NY 14850.
