Joan E. Longsdorf

Joan E. Longsdorf, age 92 of 150 Pine Tree Rd in Ithaca, New York, left this world on December 28, 2023, from Beechtree Care Center to be with her savior.

Joan was born on August 10th, 1931, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of the late Lisle and Helen Longsdorf.

She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1949, and from Kansas State College (now University) in 1953 with a B.S. Degree. She took additional teaching courses from Kansas State and Emporia State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas, and one year at Washington Bible College in Washington DC. She also took summer school courses at Washington Bible College and Kansas City Bible College in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a graduate of the Leadership Training School of Child Evangelism Fellowship at Wolf Lake, Michigan, class of 1959.

Joan taught children and teens in Bible Clubs, released-time religious education classes through the schools Vacation Bible Schools, Sunday School and Junior Church during much of her adult life. She was also a church pianist for a number of years.

Survivors include one cousin, Dr. Donna Norton of Madison, WI, and other friends and church family.

There will be a graveside service at East Lawn Cemetery (across from Judd Falls Plaza) on January 6th, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Delbert Fields officiating. Online condolences at www.bangsfuneralhome.com
