Our hearts were not ready when Jean Stewart earned her angel wings on December 8, 2021 in Elmira, NY. Jean was born in Buffalo, NY on July 28, 1958 to the late Marion James Fields and Crystean Fields (White). Ithaca, NY was home for the majority of her formative years, preceded by her twin sister Joan (d. 1958) and survived by siblings Debra, Barbara, Shanaqua, Javon and Mayala. After graduating from Ithaca High School, Jean attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD where she met the love of her life, Ricky Stewart Sr.. Jean and Ricky would have been married forty-four years on December 21, 2021. Carrying on her memory are her children; Taniqua, Ricky Jr., Thea, Jordan, and Dominique; grandchildren; Dekhari, Amari, Alyciana, Ricky III, Ryland and Aiden; and great grandchildren; Major and Melanin.
A creative woman of many, many hobbies, Jean’s loving heart and beautiful smile will forever remain imprinted on our hearts.
With covid taking our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, safety during Jean's home going is of the utmost importance. Services will be held in-person for a small group of family on December 17, 2021 at 12pm EST.
