Jean Firestone Mailhot

Jean Firestone Mailhot, 85, passed away Tuesday January 20, 2015
Jean Firestone Mailhot was born in Buffalo, NY on June 15th,
1929 daughter of Edward and Ann Marie Andres. She was
predeceased by her first husband, Donald H. Firestone in 1965,
and by her second husband, Pierre J. Mailhot in 2012.
Jean is survived by her three children Annette (Tim) McCabe of
Lansing, NY, Karen (Tom) Lanning of Middletown, NJ and Larry
Firestone of Colorado Springs, Co, two step children, Marie
(Bertrand) Mailhot and Jean Mailhot both in Canada, and eight
grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Jean was employed for over 39 years with the Ithaca School
District as the secretary to the principal at the Northeast
Elementary School. She also volunteered at the Cayuga Medical
Center for twelve years after retiring from Northeast
Elementary. Upon retirement a Memorial Garden (Jean's
Greens) was created by the staff and students at Northeast
Elementary in her honor. Jean was an active member in the
community and was a founding parishioner at St. Catherine of
Siena Catholic Church.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Marcoux
Fri. Jan. 23 at 3:00 P.M. at the St. Catherine of Siena Church. The
family will greet friends immediately following the mass at a
reception in the parish center. In lieu of flowers please make
any donation to St. Catherine of Siena. Bangs Funeral Home will be
assisting the family
