Janina "Jan" (Mrozowski) Brown

Janina (Jan) Brown of Etna, New York passed away Friday, September 15, 2023, at home.

Born February 28, 1956, in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Franciszek and Maria Florczak Mrozowski. She married the love of her life, Bill Brown, in May of 1995.

She loved her family, animals, cooking, baking, reading, traveling, and was a die-hard Yankees fan. While working at Cornell University for over 40 years, she always displayed hard work and dedication. Jan was very dependable and committed to putting others first, ensuring others were always cared for. She was loved by everyone and always made an impact on those around her.

She leaves behind two daughters, Kristen Paluch and Kimberly Allen (Megan); an older brother, Adam Mrozowski (Charlotte M.); her grandchildren, Searra Allen and Breanna Baker; and her nephews, Frank (Cheryl), Matt (Jen) and Nick; and her loving cat, Snuggles. She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Brown in 2010.

Family and friends may call from 11am – 1pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St. in Ithaca with a graveside service to follow at Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden.
