Janice Marie Kottke

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Janice Marie Kottke, aged 83, of Ithaca, NY on December 20, 2024.

Janice was born on December 8, 1941 in Schenectady, NY. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and cherished friend. She was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School and Ridley Lowell Business and Technical Institute. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, sewing, and doing crossword puzzles.

Janice is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Bonnie Judd, brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Deborah Kottke, grand-daughter Meghan Stoel (formerly Judd), grandson Patrick Judd, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Dorothy Kottke, and sister Sandra Vedder (formerly Kottke).

Calling hours will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Bang’s Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St. Ithaca, NY, followed by a service to celebrate Janice’s life at 3 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and share in this time of remembrance.

In place of flowers, donations may be made to Loaves and Fishes of Tompkins County.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at NorthBrook Heights of Auburn, Auburn Community Hospital, and Auburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Janice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
