James Stephen Zifchock Jr.

James S. Zifchock, Jr., 64 of Ithaca passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 at Cayuga Medical Center.

Born April 4, 1961 in Ithaca, he is the son of James Stephen Zifchock Sr.and the late Joanne Grace Zifchock. He was the owner and cook of Ziffy’s Diner on Lincoln Street for several years. He was an avid sports fan refereeing soccer and lacrosse in NYS, the Carolina’s and in Florida.

In addition to his father, Jimmy is survived by his stepmother, Patricia Love; his niece, Elly Elizabeth Zifchock, his aunt, Margy and other extended family members of the Mahool and Zifchock families. In addition, he was predeceased by his mother, Joanne and brother, Stephen.

There will be a Private Graveside Service with burial in Calvary Cemetery. A memorial mass is planned for June 2025 at Immaculate Conception Church. A celebration of Jimmy’s life is being planned by his many friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
