James Robert "Bob" Dougherty

July 19, 1930 — April 10, 2013

James Robert "Bob" Dougherty, 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Cayuga Medical Center. He was born in Ithaca, son of the late James and Ruth Brink Dougherty.

Bob was a graduate of Ithaca High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He had owned and operated the Pine Tavern and was a longtime member of Iron Workers Local #60.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Lisa Dougherty Everts and his grandson, James Robert Everts. He is also survived by his sister, Mary and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Marie Eframson Dougherty, his daughter, JoLynn McCloskey and his sister, Catherine Alexander.

Graveside services will be celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff on Tuesday, April 16th at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, April 15th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the VFW. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bob's memory be directed to the Chris Bordoni Fitness Trailhead, c/o Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, 904 East Shore Dr., Ithaca, NY 14850. Donation forms will be available at the funeral home.
