ITHACA Iolanda "Lonnie" M. Bordoni of Ithaca, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Cayuga Medical Center due to complications from a fall at her home. As she passed she was surrounded by all those that loved her. She was born February 12, 1925 in Ithaca, daughter of the late Angelo and Elda Mollela Olevano.

Lonnie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family. She was also a loving wife to her husband of 56 years, David, until his passing in 2007. During the summer months she could be found sitting on her front porch of her Fall Creek home and was a special friend to all those that knew her in the neighborhood. She worked several years at GLF Company and later retired from Woolworth's Department Store in Ithaca.

She is survived by her sons, Jack Bordoni of Ithaca, Gary (Patricia) Bordoni of Ithaca, and Robert Bordoni of Boynton Beach, Florida; and a daughter, Sandra (Kip) Townsend of Brooktondale; beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Bordoni of Albany, Matthew Bordoni (Jolee Newman) of Dryden, and Clifford "C.D." and Trevor Townsend of Brooktondale; one great-grandaughter, Maddison Bordoni of Dryden; sister Elissa Olevano; brother-in-law Leon Spencer; and several nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Olevano Miller and sister-in-law, Teresa Bordoni Spencer.

Lonnie has requested a cremation and a private immediate family farewell. She will be placed with her family at Calvary Cemetery in Ithaca, N.Y. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
