Hazel L. Lucas

Hazel L. Lucas, 95, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Hospicare Residence. She was born in Ithaca, daughter of the late Earl and Ethel Joyce Spencer. She had worked until the age of 72 in the food service industry in Ithaca and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Hazel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mary Lucas; her grandchildren, Michael (Michele) Lucas, Tim (Melissa) Lucas, Michele (Justin) McGraw, Robert Lucas and Becky (Doug) Filaroski and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and caregiver, Jean Spencer and also her dear friends and caregiver's Donna Parker and Diane Combs. In addition to her parents, Hazel was also predeceased by her son, William Lucas and brothers, Earl, Robert, Denman and William Spencer.

Funeral services will be celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hazel's memory may be made to the Franziska Racker Center, 3226 Wilkins Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
