Hattie Marie Lower

January 15, 1931 — April 8, 2024

Hattie Marie Lower, 93 passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Cayuga Medical Center.  She was born the daughter of the late Albert and Ellen Dickson Cooper.  Hattie was a graduate of Dryden High School.  She met her loving husband, Robert Lower at a square dance after he returned from the service. They married on July 8, of 1950 and they enjoyed 73 years of marriage. After raising her children she went to work for Morse Chain until retirement after 25 years. Hattie loved all flowers, especially daffodils, dahlias, orchids, and gladiolas.  Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family, doing anything as long as they were together. The family took countless fishing trips to Canada, and enjoyed going to flea markets when her and Robert spent winter months in Florida.

She is predeceased by her parents; daughter, Marian Marie Lower; son David Lower; granddaughter, Amanda Marie Lower; daughter in law, Roberta Lower; brothers: Albert Cooper, George Cooper, Gerald Cooper, James Brown; sisters: Doris Armstrong and Clara Brown. Survived by her husband Robert and their children: Robert Lower, Jr., Gary (Debra) Lower, Deborah (Raymond) Lower Kalwara; daughter in law Barbara Lower; sister, Connie Turk; grandchildren: William, Christina, Tonya, Gary Jr., and Glen; great-grandchildren: Cole, Brianna, Sierra, Carterann, Cooper, Aiden, Briggs; 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 15, at 1pm at Bangs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11am – 1pm before the service.  Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
