Harriet Giannelis, beloved wife of Emmanuel for 26 years and loving mother of Paul, was taken suddenly on Wednesday June 12, 2013. She was the daughter of Emanuel and Tsambika Koutsouris and brother of John Koutsouris (Margaret). Devoted aunt of Michael and Lukas; caring godmother of Andreas and Paul.

She was born in New Jersey on August 23, 1963. She received her B.S. in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University and worked for a big- eight public accounting firm. After moving to Ithaca, she joined and was committed to her work at Tompkins Community Action where she dedicated 25 years, as Finance Director. She was actively involved in, devoted to, and more recently the President of The Philoptochos Society at St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church.

She lived for her family, appreciated her friends, was kind to everyone, and will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her passing is mourned by family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and both the St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church and Cornell community.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Food Pantry at Tompkins Community Action 701 Spencer Road, Ithaca, NY 14850 or The Philoptochos Society of St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church 120 W. Seneca Street, Ithaca, NY 14850.

Memorial services will be held at St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church on Monday June 17 at 1 pm. The family will receive friends, 11:30 to 1:00 pm, prior to the services. The family would like to extend an invitation to join them for a reception in the church fellowship hall following the service.
