Harold Edward Beaver

Harold Edward Beaver, 83 of 157 Nelson Rd. Ithaca, passed away at home with his family at by his side, Saturday January 26, 2013 after a extended illness. He was born April 10, 1929 in Sullivan County, Pa. to Theodore and Ruth Crist Beaver.

Harold enlisted in the US Navy Jan. 7, 1946 and served two years on the USS Anderson and was stationed in Guam. After Harold was discharged from the Navy he went back to school to finish his high school education, where he meet the love of his life Shirley Clara Schlock. Harold and Shirley married July 10, 1950

Harold worked at the Cornell Wilson Synchrotron as a electrical Technican for several years.

Harold is survived by his wife of 62 years Shirley S. Beaver, daughter: Terry Lee (Jakob III) Ruebel, Son: Chris E. Beaver, Grandchildren:Michael J. Sr.(Laura) Reubel, Kristie M. Reubel, Great Grandchildren: Lee, Lauren, Michael Jr and Hunter, Great Great Grandson: Dominic, also surviving are a Brother: Robert Beaver, Brother-In-Law: Louis Blasi, Sister-In-Law Arlene Mearian and several Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by a Sister: Loraine Blasi, Sister-In-Law Cheri Beaver and a Nephew.

The family would like to say thank you to Hospicare and especially to his aide Lena for the kind and gentle care she gave him.

As to the family wishes there will be no calling hours, in lieu of flowers those who wish to honor Harold's memory are asked to consider a contribution to Hospicare at 172 East King Rd. Ithaca, NY 14850.

Burial will take place in the Spring with full Military Honors at the Family plot in the Danby Rural Cemetery, and will be announced at a later date for those wishing to attend. Bangs Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements
