Gordon C Begent Iii

Gordon C. Begent III, 63, of Ithaca, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Ithaca, on April 21, 1949, son of the late Gordon C. Begent II and Frances "Betty" Sullivan Begent.

Gordie was a graduate of Ithaca High School where he was an exceptional athlete and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He had worked in the family business, Begeacres Farms for many years.
Gordie had formerly owned and operated The Hideaway Lounge, Begeacres Cattlemans and Farmers and Shippers.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Begent, and the light of his life, son and daughter, Gordon C. Begent IV and Elizabeth Begent all of Ithaca and his sister, Leslie Fish of Flordia. He is also survived by his aunt, Margaret Davis and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Prayer services will be held Wednesday February 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Bangs Funeral Home with Sr. Edna Slyck officiating
There are no calling hours. Burial at East Lawn Cemetery will be delayed until Spring. In lieu of flowers donations in Gordie's
memory may be made to the Ithaca High School Athletic Department.
