Gloria Christopher

LANSING – Gloria L. (Head) Christopher, age 97 of Lansing, NY passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Groton Community Health Care.

Born September 16, 1924 at home in Lansing, NY she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Ina Mae Moseley Head and wife of the late Frederick L. Christopher who passed away January 25, 1982. She was a graduate of Ithaca High School and she along with her husband operated, for many years, Chris ‘N Greens Restaurant in Lanisng. Later she ran a small antique store “This ‘N That” in Groton enjoying many friends in the same field.

Gloria is survived by her three beloved children, Robert F. Christopher (Josette, deceased) of Central Square, NY; Sharon R. Vincent (Stephen) of Lansing, NY and Gary M. Christopher (Linda) of King Ferry, NY; 10 grandchildren, who she adored and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with. Also there are 15 great grandchildren who were the new joys in her life; brothers in law, Anthony Christopher (Mildred, deceased), Rudy Christopher (Kitty) and Dominic Christopher (Barbara); sister in law, Celeste Spoon; many nieces and nephews who have always been a big part of her life, especially Judy Sweazey, Dixie Varga, Terri Dean and Bonny Jo Wolf. In addition, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorthea M. Miller (Donald) and Midred C. Baman (Richard); brothers in law, Matthew Christopher (Catherine), Michael Christopher (Jean) and John Christopher (Ann) and sister in law, Mary Nemeth (Joseph).

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 am to 1 pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St., Ithaca, NY followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery for family only. In lieu of flowers, Gloria, as well as her family would like donations to go to Lansing Athletics, Athletics Director, Katie Crandall, 300 Ridge Rd., Lansing, NY 14882.
