Glenn L. Hubbell, age 90, lifelong resident of Ithaca, passed away at home Wednesday, March 26, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Born November 5,1934 he was one of six children of the late Robert and Nellie Updike Hubbell. He was the founder of the family business, known as Hub’s Place. He was a landlord for 50+ years, a licensed electrician, and a jack of all trades. He adored his family and friends and always looked forward to the weekend when he would be negotiating a sale with the many customers of Hub’s place.
Glenn is survived by five of his seven children, Lee (Patricia) Hubbell, Beverly Hubbell, David (Kimberly) Hubbell, Danny Hubbell, Marijane (Russell) Johnson; grandchildren, Michael Hubbell, Tiffany Hubbell, Jessica Hubbell, Alisha (Patrick) Housworth, Terra Hubbell, Austin (Alexa) Hubbell, Corey (Bridget) Griffen, Callie (Christian Marte) Griffen, Kristen (Bobby) Tolchin, Casey (Bo) Allington, Marshall (Sara) Crane, Dustin Hubbell, Daniel (Amanda) Hubbell, Paige (Newell) Field; along with 23 great grandchildren, nieces/nephews and his brother M. Clyde (Jack) Hubbell. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eugene Hubbell, Gerald Hubbell, Kenneth (Bud) Hubbell, and sister Leah Hubbell, wife Mary A. Hubbell, sons, Timothy L. Hubbell and Randy S. Hubbell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Enfield Grange in his name. A Celebration of Glenn’s Life will be held on April 4, 2025 from 2-4 pm at the Enfield Grange, 178 Enfield Main Rd., Ithaca, NY. A private burial at the Calvary Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting.
