Ovid: Gaylan DeMotte, 63, of Ovid, NY, died peacefully on May 26th at the Cayuga Medical Center with her daughter, Nicole Christmas DeMotte, ex-husband and best friend, James DeMotte and her partner, Steve Gamble by her side. Gaylan was born February 26, 1949 in Austin, TX and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to New York in 2006. She is also survived by her brother, Jeffrey Warren; sister, Jennie Morton; and her brother-in-law, Charles DeMotte and his wife, Jane Edwards. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gaylan's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the S.P.C.A. Bangs Funeral is assisting the family.
