Frieda E. Alexander

Frieda Sherwood Alexander, 99, of Ithaca passed away on September 17, 2022.  She was born on March 21, 1923 to the late Guy and Elizabeth Sherwood.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana Cleveland and her children, Debra Takacs (Bryan): Daniel Cleveland (Michelle); Dwayne Cleveland (Shannon) and Charles. Also, by her son, Ronald (Debra) and their children, Amy Dean and Mindy (Jeremy) Speck.  She is also survived by her 13 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Frieda worked for 28 years at Cornell University Treasurer’s and Bursar’s office. She loved sports, especially the Yankees. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing baseball, softball, football and bowling. She will be greatly missed by all her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Catherine’s of Siena Church, 309 Siena Drive, Ithaca, NY.  A burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Ithaca, NY.
